MODULE PROJECT

At the Huckabee College of Architecture at Texas Tech University, first-year architecture students are challenged to explore creativity, structure, and problem-solving through hands-on design projects. One foundational assignment required students to create a freestanding architectural structure built entirely from repeating modules without the use of glue or fasteners. Instead, the structure had to rely solely on balance, weight, friction, and precise construction to remain stable while meeting strict dimensional requirements of approximately 18 inches in height, width, and depth.

Blake embraced the challenge with creativity and patience, designing a visually striking structure distinguished by its unique coloring and acrylic materials. His work combined artistic vision with architectural precision, and the project was selected by the university to be displayed during the Lubbock First Friday Art Trail in downtown Lubbock, recognizing both his originality and emerging architectural talent.

This drawing, created by Blake, became the inspiration behind the Blake’s Box Project logo. Its interconnected geometric design reflects creativity, perspective, and the thoughtful imagination that defined Blake’s architectural work and artistic vision.

ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO

This is Blake’s completed architecture portfolio, submitted as part of the competitive review process for admission into the architecture degree program. Each student’s portfolio was carefully evaluated by faculty for creativity, design ability, and potential within the field of architecture. Blake’s pavilion design served as a centerpiece of his portfolio and reflected his creativity, attention to detail, and passion for architectural design.
